Heilongjiang Vice Governor Yu Jian Leads Delegation to Malaysia
From August 18 to 21, 2025, Yu Jian, Vice Governor of Heilongjiang Province, led a delegation on a visit to Malaysia.
The delegation members included Li Shengbin, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Heilongjiang Province; Zhou Guicai, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Transportation of Heilongjiang Province; Xing Yingna, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Commerce of Heilongjiang Province; and relevant working group personnel. Under the overall arrangement of the Malaysia-China Cultural Tourism Association, various exchange activities were carried out during the visit, further promoting cultural, tourism, and economic and trade cooperation between China and Malaysia.
On the day of the delegation's arrival, the Malaysia-China Cultural Tourism Association hosted a welcome dinner. Those in attendance to warmly welcome the delegation included the Association's President Natalie Chan, Vice President Tan Tiong Yih, and Committee Member Wang Qixing , as well as Howard Lee , Member of Parliament for Ipoh Timor, Perak, and Loh Sze Yee, Perak State Executive Council Member for Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development.
On August 20, accompanied by President Natalie Chan and Pahang Deputy Speaker Lee Chin Chen, the delegation met with Anthony Loke, Malaysia's Minister of Transport. The two sides exchanged views on China-Malaysia aviation, infrastructure, and transportation issues. Minister Loke expressed his full support for the Kuala Lumpur-Harbin direct flight project.

On the same day, Nga Kor Ming, Malaysia's Minister of Housing and Local Government, hosted a welcome dinner for Vice Governor Yu Jian and the delegation at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. During the dinner, the two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as education, local government construction, aviation, and trade. Following the dinner, they jointly attended the China (Heilongjiang)-Malaysia Trade and Investment Promotion Conference. At the conference, Yu Jian formally announced that Malaysia will be invited to serve as the Country of Honour for the 2026 Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair (referred to as the "Harbin Fair") and extended a renewed invitation to Minister Nga Kor Ming to be the guest of honour at the opening ceremony of the Harbin Fair.
Minister Nga Kor Ming expressed his deep honour and stated that he would work hand-in-hand with the Malaysia-China Cultural Tourism Association to leverage the advantage of being the Country of Honour, using the Harbin Fair platform to promote Malaysia's quality products to the Chinese market and further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education and tourism.
On August 21, the delegation visited the Parliament House of Malaysia and met with Alice Lau Kiong Yieng, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (Dewan Rakyat), further enhancing mutual understanding and friendship.
This visit not only deepened exchanges between the two countries at both the local and central government levels but also laid a solid foundation for the upcoming Harbin Fair.
